About the Corps

Welcome to the website of Menasha’s K-9 Corps, a group of concerned citizens and dog advocates who are working to bring a K-9 Unit to the Menasha Police Department. We are a not-for-profit project of Tri-Com. Our goal is to raise $35,000 for covering the initial costs of acquiring an appropriate dog, training the dog and handler team, and equipping the Menasha PD for the housing, transport, and care of the dog.As outlined by officer Paul Scheppf in his proposal, this dog would be a Drug Detection, Tracking, and Community Relations dog … this would not be a dog used for apprehension (the dog would be trained as a no-bite member of the force).Officer Jeff Jorgenson called our board together in January of 2008 to present the need and investigate the possibility of raising the necessary funds for this addition to the force … our response was overwhelming YES! Officer Scheppf & Mike Quinn Post our Community Awareness Dog Bone

So far we have raised approximately $15,000 of the $35,000 goal … Thank you for your generous support!

The new EVENTS page has a great list of activities where you and the family can have fun and benefit the community. Check it out - we’ll see you there!

Have fun while helping the K-9 Corps!

We’re continuing our campaign of unique family events on July 26 & July 27 from 8 AM to approximately 3 PM at Calder Stadium Soccer Field #2 with a dog agility trial sanctioned by the North American Dog Agility Council. This weekend will be filled with dogs from all over the country competing to complete obstacle courses including jumps, weave poles, tunnels, climbing obstacles.

You will be amazed by National Champion dogs reaching speeds in excess of 7 yards per second and entertained by the dogs who are new to the sport and just ‘getting their paws’ at the very start of their career. Competing handlers will also be available to answer questions, tell you about training, and let you meet some of the competitive dogs ‘in person’.

This is an outstanding opportunity for adults and children - but please, no non-competing dogs on the grounds during the trials. Most people have only seen Agility competition on TV, this is a rare opportunity to see an exciting sport up-close and in-person!

Admission is free - we offer food & refreshments and accept donations to the Corps at this event.

If you have never seen Dog Agility before, here’s a sneak preview from a NADAC trial in Washington:
